For fans of Reuben, St Pierre Snake Invasion, Heck.
One of the most underrated songwriters of the last 20 years, Jamie Lenman, frontman and founder of pioneering British alt rockers Reuben has just surprised us all with an unreleased song from his debut solo album Muscle Memory. The album came out in 2013 but is currently in the process of being re-released with tracks such as this one being added. If you're familiar with the previously mentioned Muscle Memory album then you'll be well aware of the musical ferocity that occurred in the first half of that record. Smash, Stab And Burn is unmistakingly ripped from that era and it sure doesn't pull any punches with it's frighteningly frantic drum beats that wear you out just by listening to it. The unfiltered rage in the vocals is a staple of this sound that Lenman creates and they perfectly compliment the guitar lines as they wind their way through the track. You know what you're getting with Jamie and this doesn't disappoint. In my opinion, a musician who can do no wrong continues to uphold that stellar reputation.
