Adding another facet to their sound, West Midlands post punk outfit Baudelaire have released a dance-able, synth driven banger in the form of 'Lose The Feeling'. Previous singles from the band have allowed for their harder hitting influences to shine through with high energy Idles-esque drums and distorted driven guitars featuring on songs such as 'Prayers' and ' Façade'. 'Lose The Feeling' however kicks off with a buzzy synth line that quickly evolves into a groovy and dark verse with creepy vocals creating an tense an eerie progression. This chorus includes an excellent vocal hook sat on top of a punchy drum beat and trippy guitars all held together by a solid bassline that alongside the synth really holds everything together. Its grand, it's catchy, it's an ear worm to say the least. The songs builds to this chaotic and angry bridge section. Alarming guitars soar over the top of a fuzzy bassline and a sense of doom formed by a cacophony of noises. Close your eyes and it feels like the room is closing in on you! This is the 4th single to be released by the six piece consisting of Danny Owen (vocals), Alex Walker (Guitar), Liam Molineaux (Guitar), Liam Aston (Bass), Arthur Jones (Synth/Percussion) and Joseph Embleton (Drums). It's another string to their already strong bow and they stand out as a really promising light in the recent post punk/new wave revival. Definitely one to keep an eye on. Rating: 4.5/5
