Pest Control - Enjoy The Show (Review)

Leeds based thrash outfit Pest Control have just released a ripper in the form of their new track Enjoy The Show. Combining blistering palm muted riffs with dive bombs, energetic drums, driving bass and fierce vocals from vocalist Leah, the band have released a really polished and accomplished track for a group still in their infancy. The band debuted their first EP in 2020 with their most recent release coming in February this year in the form of their debut album Don't Test The Pest. That first release from the band was more akin to a hard edged hardcore sound, where as this latest release sits more in the thrash world with elements of Municipal Waste, Going Off, Scowl and also groovy 2 steps in the vein of bands such as Turnstile. Quickly gaining a following, they have won themselves a spot on tour with legendary band Obituary which is no small feat! I'm not a sucker for a polished production job either, but I do have to say that the gradual uptake in production value has really added a new dimension to this group. You really get to hear every element of this band shine through with this crisp yet fierce sound, a really good job by mix and mastering engineer Ben Jones. A melodic yet brash track, Enjoy The Show is a track that I'm sure will win many new people over and long be a staple of their live show! Rating: 4/5
