Next month sees the release of The Wytches hotly anticipated next album 'Our Guest Can't Be Named'. Set to be released on the 22nd September via Alcopop! Records, this latest release follows up previous single 'Maria' in teasing the album. 'Zep Step' is step up in pace from what we're used to from the group! Straight away the track greets you with feedback, followed by their signature twangy guitar lines which instantly take you in. As you come to expect from the band by now, the haunting vocals encapsulate the gloomy overall vibe that the band creates. This track utilises a big grinding bass line that sits a top the doomy soundscape, an element that I don't think the band have too often used as a focal point in their music. The drums are pretty relentless on this track and the guitar work is very intense at points. The vocal hooks might also be some of my favourite that I've heard from the group. This is definitely one of the more raucous tracks from The Wytches and it does a great job at building my excitement for the upcoming album! Rating: 4/5
